Finally starting to get over a cold that has had me feeling like crap for over a week. On a more positive note, the increase in hours spent in the recliner ,due to said illness, has given me the opportunity to get acquainted with some television shows I wouldn't otherwise see. My new obsession is Masterpiece Mystery! Sherlock! Love it. Nice modern day take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic characters!

Laundry Day

Since my washer/dryer are currenly located in my basement, and my basement needs to be sealed, etc... (remodeled), I've been handwashing the laundry and hanging it out to dry. I love the results, but I think I need a washboard or something. (Since I don't have a river with a large rock running through my backyard.)
Time to start the search...

Travel

Travel has a lot of little quips associated with it. So many that they all seem relevant, but sort of dingy and grey from over-use.

I went on a little trip to New York recently for a get-together, mainly for people who have Airstream Travel Trailers. (The Airstreamer's Club) The event was called "The Birthday Bash", and seems to be a major topic of focus and conversation for those involved in the afforementioned club. I was a sort-of tag-a-long, who attended because I was with a member of the club. I myself do not own an Airstream, although I do hope to have one someday. I have a small camper, which I am very happy with, even if it isn't silver. (and even though it needs some work)

I won't pretend to understand fully the details of the politics of this club, any of the other "Airstream Clubs", or any other clubs for that matter.

What I did take note of, about this particular group of people, was that they were all extremely nice folks.

I don't generally enjoy being in a group setting with people I do not know, because it seems as if there are always a few people in the group who are rather uptight. I didn't find that to be the case at all with this group of people. Family oriented, laid-back, friendly people were they, who attended this inaugural event.

And let me tell you, if you've never seen vintage campers, one of these events is a great place to get an eyeful. They are all very unique and interesting.

The coordinators did an excellent job of putting this event together, although I would have liked to see them relax more than they were able.

Also, I have to add here that I absolutely, 100%, fell in love with New York. I don't think I have ever really noticed it while driving through it to go elsewhere, or maybe I've only been through a small section of it, but I really got to see it this time, and I want to see it again. I'm already trying to figure out how to get back there next year for a vacation!
